01 / OVERVIEW

Practical product refinement, prototype engineering, and machine integration for Utah operators.

Mithril Solutions helps inventors, owner-operators, and small manufacturers define the problem, refine the design, build the right prototype, source the right components, and hand off documentation a real team can use. Controls, mechanical design, supplier coordination, and field integration stay under one roof. Licensed engineering comes through outside partners when a stamp is required.

02 / CAPABILITIES

Where we add engineering leverage.

Six service lines. We lead the refinement, prototype, sourcing, and integration work; if something falls outside the fit, we say so early and point you somewhere honest.

PHASESKUENGAGEMENTDELIVERABLESTARTING AT

Machine Integration
You need equipment, controls, vendors, and startup brought together. Panel build, programming, and field commissioning.
Integration plan · build coordination · commissioning support $12,000
05PRT-500
Prototype / Pilot Build
You need a working proof-of-concept or pre-production unit to test before committing to full design or production.
Prototype hardware · test notes · BOM · refinement list $3,500 + materials
06DEP-700
Deployment & Commissioning
You need onsite install, startup, debugging, training, or handoff. We show up, commission it, and close it out in writing.
Startup support · operator training · closeout documentation $1,500/day
07SRC-600
Procurement Support
You need help sourcing parts, vendors, alternates, or build materials. Vendor research and supply coordination.
Vendor shortlist · parts package · purchasing support 15% + parts
◆ PATHWAY NOTE
Most projects begin with Technical Discovery unless a defined scope already exists. Final pricing depends on system complexity, documentation requirements, safety risk, travel, parts, schedule pressure, and commissioning uncertainty.

Stamped engineering

We're not a PE firm. When a job requires a stamp — structural, electrical code, pressure — we route through vetted Utah-licensed partners and stay on as the engineering lead.

03 / PROCESS

How an engagement moves from call to handoff.

Four phases. We tell you where you are, what decisions are in front of you, what it costs, and what the next gate is — in writing.

01
PHASE — INTAKE

Walkthrough & scope

30-minute call, sometimes a site visit. We leave with a one-page scope, a budget range, and a yes/no on whether we're the right engineering partner.

Free · 1 — 3 days
02
PHASE — QUOTE

Decision memo + quote

Written quote with a fixed price or clear T&M cap, line-item deliverables, and the design or procurement decisions that have to be locked before work starts.

Scoped fee · credited
03
PHASE — EXECUTION

Refine, prototype, procure

Weekly check-ins, shared drawings and BOMs, and visible design decisions. We refine the concept, coordinate prototypes, and source what the project actually needs.

2 — 12 weeks
04
PHASE — HANDOFF

Deploy, document, hand off

Start-up support, signed punch-list, documentation package, operator walk-through, and a clean handoff so the next team is not guessing.

1 — 2 weeks
04 / LEDGER

A partial project ledger.

Real recent work, anonymized where customers asked. Numbers are ballparks, not promises.

From the last project, verbatim.

One note from a recent client, unedited. A real project, a real outcome.

06 / APPROACH

Small by design. Structured on purpose.

Three to five people. No account managers, no billable-hour theater. The person you call is the technical lead owning scope, decisions, and handoff. We stay small so tradeoffs stay close to the problem.

// PRINCIPLES

Deliver what we scoped

Fixed-scope work gets a fixed price. Change orders are written, priced, and signed. You see the same number twice.

// REFERRALS

Word of mouth, mostly

Almost all our work comes from someone who worked with us before. That means we turn down jobs we're wrong for — often.

// OUTSIDE THE FIT

When we say no

Stamped structural. Medical. Anything hazardous class 1. Software-only SaaS. We'll refer you, not fake it.

07 / FAQ

Questions we keep getting.

Read these before you send the form. Saves everyone a step.

Do you do stamped engineering?
No — not in-house. When a job needs a PE stamp (structural, code-sensitive electrical, pressure vessels), we bring in one of four Utah-licensed partners and stay on as the integrator. You get a stamped drawing set on your records and a coordinated handoff.
What does a typical project cost?
Most engagements land between $2k and $80k. A panel retrofit is usually $4k–$15k. A full product development run with a shipping prototype is usually $15k–$60k. We quote it up front.
How fast can you start?
Intake calls happen the same week. Paid scoped work usually starts within 2–4 weeks. Emergency integration (down-line machine) we'll flag on the call and try to pull in same-week.
Do you work outside Utah?
Yes, but we prefer within a ~2-hour drive of Utah County. Outside that we add travel and it gets harder to be cost-competitive against someone closer.
Who owns the design?
You do. Drawings, BOMs, program source, and the schematic set get handed over at the end of the project. We keep a copy for reference only.
What won't you take on?
Medical devices, life-safety without a PE partner, anything classified hazardous Class 1, pure-software SaaS builds, and jobs where the customer wants us to skip documentation. We'll refer, not pretend.
